Still going strong!

I've lost another 1.2 pounds so I'm up to 36.2 pounds!  My eating is not as balanced as it should be, but it's working for now and it's something I can live with.

I've decided I'm going to break my weight loss into 50 pound increments...I'll soon be 'starting over' with my weight loss!  I might try different approaches with each 50 pounds!

I started using the elliptical machine the other day and my knee didn't hurt!  PTL  It burns more calories, but it's harder too!  So I only did 5 minutes, tomorrow I want to do 10 minutes on it.  I also did 25 minutes on the treadmill the other day.  Tomorrow I hope to do 10 and 20 with weight lifting!  :)

I bought some new pants to workout in...I hope they fit!  I also was able to wear a skirt that's been too tight for me!  :)

Another pound!

I haven't updated for a while because of our trip our trip last weekend and it usually takes me a week to get back in the groove!  I weighed this morning and have lost another pound so I'm happy about that!  I need to get busy and start losing a little faster though.  I think my summer travels are over with so I can get back into the swing of things and start exercising regularly.

Mike joined Snap Fitness with me so we are going to go there...hopefully together, but if not we will go separately.  With my schedule I think afternoon/evening workouts are what I'm going to have to do so having someone to go with me will be a bonus!

I'm going to get a fitness assessment this week at the workout place where I go just to get a starting point. I've been here and done this before so I know what to do, but it's kind of motivating to see where you are and have goals.  I set up my online account and they have recommended exercises that I will be doing, but I'd still like to hear what the fitness trainer has to say too!  I suppose she's never met anyone as overweight as I am with as much knowledge as I have in nutrition and weight lifting! But I hope to learn from her...even if she is half my age!  rofl

I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still plugging along in my weight loss journey!  :)

Someone noticed!!!

Today I was at Walmart and one of the cashiers that we've known for a long time asked if I was losing weight again!  There is nothing better than someone who does NOT know you are losing weight to notice it! That kind of made my day!

So far I've lost 33 pounds!  Mike just joined the gym with me and we are going together as soon as Michele picks Cody up!  I'm thrilled with my progress so far!  :)

Outside my window...there was a thunderstorm just a few minutes ago, but now it's sunny! Cody was supposed to have a scrimmage tonight so we are assuming the scrimmage has been canceled because it rained REALLY hard so I can't believe the field would be dry enough to play just a scrimmage!

I am thankful best friend who makes workouts a lot more fun!

From the kitchen...we tried turkey burgers this week...I'm not thrilled with them, but they are healthy. Although I told Mike that I think I'd rather just count the calories for that! I want to enjoy what I eat even while I'm trying to get healthy!

I am and white skirt and blue polo shirt.

I am creating...some signature tags with PSP 9 that I'm learning and having lots of fun doing it!

I am Hagerstown, MD and Gettysburg with my sister and her family this weekend!

I am Bible and new Bible study on Hebrews 11! It's really good so far!

I am praying...for a great mini vacation with my sister's family!

I am hearing...Mike drop dishes in the kitchen...wonder if that is a hint for me to come help? Nah! rofl

Around the house...I've been doing some throwing out of things which feels good! Nothing real big, but enough to make me feel good about getting the excess out of the house!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tutoring again and thinking about the trip on Friday to see my sister and her family for the weekend!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...this is my mom about two months before she passed away. We took a weekend trip to Michigan to see my sister and surprised her children with the visit. I can't help but think she knew her time was short.

Sunday Scales!

Technically I'm using the weight from yesterday cause the scale was kind to me yesterday and not so much today for some reason...might have been the Pizza Hut Pizza last night...just sayin'!

But even at that I've lost a little more than 27 pounds!  This week I want to watch what I eat a little more carefully than I have been because of my trip to Gettysburg next weekend!

Oh, and thank you all for NOT pointing out my typo with the "foot intake" from my last post!  I do put my foot in my mouth a lot, but I meant to follow my food intake!  LOL

Weighty Wednesday...

It's that time again for an update on the healthy lifestyle department!  I have noticed a couple of things lately that are worth noting.

First and I think most importantly is that my knees do not ache all the time to even just walk from one room to another!  That is huge to me because it was really getting painful to walk or even stand...although, standing in one spot is still hard...I'd rather walk than stand still any day.

Another thing that I've noticed is that I can get in and out of my SUV easier than I used to!  I love my SUV and it made me sad that I couldn't get in and out without a lot of trouble!  I still have a long way to go, but I have noticed a difference.

Okay, this last one some of you are going to laugh at, but it is what it is!  Last night I wanted to shorten the straps on my bra cause it's getting a bit loose, but I wasn't ready to buy a new one...I have more than one, but I tend to wash and wear the same one all the time for some reason.  Anyway, I went to shorten the straps and found that the strap was about to break!  YIKES!  Can't have those babies flapping in the wind so it was time to throw that one away!  I actually wish I was handy with a sewing machine cause I know it could be fixed, but sewing machines and I don't get along!  LOL

Anyway, those are my little victories for today!  I won't weigh again until Sunday so there is no lose to report, but I'm doing well!

Sunday Scales

I didn't get to blog about my weight this last week because of just the confusion of the week with my dad and his wife visiting and rearranging tutoring schedules it was just a crazy week, but I want to keep up with this blog because it's important to me!

Mary and I joined the gym a week ago Friday and I went twice and then got busy. I went yesterday morning, but not this morning because of church.  Mary and I have plans to go again tomorrow before Haley gets here.  I will have an early morning on the mornings that I tutor...I might just do three days a week so I don't have to go SOO early except for Wednesdays!

I've lost another pound making my weight loss 23 pounds!  I'm happy with matter what I'm losing is better than the scale going up!

I haven't been writing my eating down just because I'm honestly not sure exactly what I've been eating, but I think for the next two weeks things should be rather 'normal' for my eating so I will start putting that on Fit Day again!  :)

Weight Wednesday!

Well, I feel like a stuffed pig, but I know I've eaten okay today.  I drank my shakes for breakfast and lunch.  Had a bite of pancake from Haley and a little rice with vegetables, but other than that and supper I didn't have anything the rest of the day.

I had two hamburger patties, baked beans, and coleslaw for supper...I will have a fruit smoothie for snack tonight, but that's all.  I haven't been posting my foot on Fit Day lately, but I'm going to mosey on over there now and post today's food intake.

Mary and I are going to check out a gym on Friday.  Her gym is closing and I found out Snap Fitness isn't coming to Madison Heights as I've been counting on so I need to do something.  I wish there was a nicer Y closer to me...there is a Y, but it's old and lots of stairs to have to navigate and my knee just doesn't do stairs too well anymore!  Anyway, we are going to check that out because I'm ready to start some kind of exercise.

Today's excitement is that I am able to wear a skirt that Mary bought for me a few months ago and it was too small!  Yippie for me!

I guess that's it for now...have to go post my food!  Help keep me accountable for my food posting, please!  :)

Weighty Thoughts

Even though it's Tuesday I thought I'd post about my weight loss today.  As of last Sunday I'd lost 21.4 pounds! I'm very happy about that and can feel the weight loss in different areas already...not as much as I'd like, but it's progress!  It's going to take a lot more pounds for me to feel a lot better, but a little better is good!

My knees didn't hurt so badly the other night while I was washing dishes which is a great accomplishment in my book!  I still haven't started to exercise which I wanted to do by now.  If I don't do it soon I won't do it.  I'm a bit disappointed that the exercise place that I've been waiting to open in our area isn't going to come here now!  I was hoping to get a jump start when they opened, but I guess I'll have to figure something out now.

I start summer tutoring today which should make my eating a little more consistent to what it was when I was in school!  I am so glad that I love what I do and I get to do it year round and in the summer have a four day weekend while I do it!  :)

Journey to Health begins again...

April 19, 2010 I decided I was going to drink Special K Protein Drinks for breakfast and lunch with a snack of 15 almonds during the day with a regular healthy supper and perhaps a snack.  Since that time I've lost 21.4 pounds!  I'm very proud of my accomplishment so far.  I look forward to getting more and more healthy.

I can already feel a difference in my knees, which makes me feel good.  And this will seem funny...I can feel a difference getting in and out of my car too!  LOL  But it's those little things that make this journey so exciting!
